On Monday September 23, TASC gave a presentation at the “ Swiss Center for Peace” in Zürich.

The meeting gathered people who are interested in peace and education, and was an occasion to share in depth about Lebanon’s deeply rooted history and rich culture, about the current threatening situation and about the possibilities to serve Reconciliation and Reform, which would set a prototype to all plural countries.

The role of Switzerland in supporting Lebanon’s endeavor toward reconciliation, especially with the commemoration in 2025 of the 50th anniversary of the outbreak of the civil war in 1975, was also raised and further discussed.

The exchange was enriched by the presence of academics, as well as people from Syria who experienced major unrest before landing in Switzerland.

Much gratitude to the organizers of this event: Karl and Beatrice Gründer, and from the “Schweizerischer Friedensrat”, Diana Schenkel.
